Sustainability
– Fair fashion on all levels
Your T-shirt, though simple in appearance, is so much more than a sculpted piece of cloth. It carries a production history involving numerous people and decisions. It links your body across national borders to an international textile manufacturing reality. To wear your T-shirt is to wear its global, social, economic and agricultural roots.

Over 90% collection durable
All our fabrics have been chosen with an eye to their contemporary style and their role as a printing support.
Stanley & Stella chose to work with eco-friendly materials. Over 90% of our apparel is therefore made of pure organic cotton or Tencel®.

Dear working conditions
At Stanley & Stella, we are committed to ethical practices at every stage of the production process. Therefore, we signed a code of conduct with our suppliers to ensure a safe, fair and ethical working environment for all the people involved. We are also present in the field by visiting our suppliers during audits and training sessions. In addition, we have teamed up with the Fair Wear Foundation to turn our commitment into reality.

Durable materials
Organic Cotton production improves soil fertility and biodiversity thanks to diversified crop rotation and non-use of GMOs. Only natural fertilizers and pesticides are used to keep groundwater and rivers free of chemicals. Water irrigation is better controlled. All Stanley & Stella’s organic cotton is certified by the worldwide-recognized GOTS standards.
Tencel® is a man-made fibre made of wood pulp, which is harvested from trees sustainably grown in farms. It is a sustainable production process that uses much less toxic corrosive solvent and more than 99% of the solvent is recycled each time. Not only the chemical waste, but also the use of energy and water is strongly reduced, and no bleach or free chlorine is used.
Our complete dyeing process complies with the most advanced requirements of the GOTS standard. All chemicals used must meet strict environmental and toxicological criteria. In addition, we minimize the use of water and all waste water is treated and recycled.

Global approach
It doesn’t stop there. At Stanley & Stella, we think the current era asks for a holistic approach to sustainability, with an environmental awareness on all levels. Therefore, all the other choices we make - from our apparel’s cuts and styles, to our logistics, marketing and focus on web communication - are grounded in the same dear & durable philosophy. We continuously look for ways to improve our process and our products.
